This garment was created as a side project during the Bangkok T Shirt collection. While sourcing second hand clothing in the markets I bought a bundle of twenty damaged shirts to cut up and turn into patch packs. As I dismantled them I kept the original prints, logos and decals instead of throwing them away.
Two of the base shirts from that bundle were cut in half and rejoined to create a new canvas. The decals taken from the other shirts were then rearranged and collaged across the surface to build a completely new design. Every element carries part of the original garments that would otherwise have been discarded.
The piece represents the idea of reuse beyond repair. Even when a T shirt cannot be saved in one piece its parts can still become something wearable. This shirt has been fully cleaned, reconstructed and finished by hand in Bangkok.
It is a one off artwork made from clothing waste, stitched together from multiple discarded lives and rebuilt into a single piece with personality and history.
