Support Emi’s work by making a donation

Emily (Emi) Rastas is a Finnish-Australian artist, designer, and sustainability advocate based in Geelong. Her practice blends wearable art, clothing repair, painting, and installation – all rooted in joy, accessibility, and environmental care. Through her brand Emipeli Design, she champions slow fashion, upcycling, and creative re-use, using colour and play to spark connection and conversation.

In addition to her art and design work, Emi is a passionate repair educator. She creates free tutorials that teach people how to mend and reimagine their clothes, helping to make sustainable fashion feel empowering and achievable for everyone.

Now, Emi is taking her mission on the road.

Starting May 14, she’ll be travelling from Geelong to the Gold Coast, stopping in towns and cities along the way to offer free clothing repairs through pop-up mending stations. These mobile repair hubs will appear in parks, hostels, community spaces, galleries and more – anywhere people need a patch, a button, or a little colour back in their clothes.

Some people will pay what they can. Others won’t – and that’s exactly the point. This project is about access, care, and keeping clothes out of landfill – not profit, however costs do need to be covered and here’s where you can help out.

Donations will help fund:
- Repair supplies – thread, needles, notions, patches, etc.
- Travel and gear for the pop-up setup
- The ability to offer this service with no pressure to pay for people who don’t have the funds to

This is activism stitched with love. A journey of community care, creative resistance, and joyful repair.

Support Emi’s mission and help keep this beautiful, practical, rebellious work rolling up the coast.
